Great Orcish War
To know the causes of the Great Orcish War, you would need to know what sort of treatment that Orcs received before the war. The government in control of the state of Felmentua around two hundred years ago decided that Orcs were not truly a part of the society, as the gods that they worshiped at the time were not a part of the grand ceremony that stopped the cataclysmic event nearly five thousand years ago. Therefore, the orcs were treated with disrespect, could only work the most menial and horrible jobs that no one else wanted to do. The orcs put up with this discrimination for some decades, and eventually got fed up with it. They tried a peaceful approach, petitioning to the council for citizenship in Felmentua, or at least better treatment. This peaceful approach turned into a large strike, that the orcs put on to prove how important they were in the society. In one area, some overly roused orcs were protesting their treatment, and what truly happened was unclear, but the non-orc races claimed that the orcs attacked some Battlemage guards, and the guards only defended themselves. The orcs claimed that the guards attacked the protesting orcs without provocation. Either way, this sparked complete and utter hatred on both sides, and fighting occurred throughout Felmentua. This fighting eventually turned into a call for all orcs to gather and fight together, and turned into an army of orcs, all willing to give their lives for the cause. The Felmentuan army was a smaller force, but was better trained and was better equipped. Through the tactical genius of the Felmentuan generals, and the use of magic, they eventually defeated the orcs after several decades of fighting. The orc numbers were greatly depleted by the end of the war, and they were all sent into exile. There is an orc village now for the refugees of the war and their families to live, called Skrug. Once settled there, there was dissent between a number of the half-orcs and the pure bred orcs, and the half orcs left to live a nomadic life in the wastelands between the village and the state of Felmentua. Half-orcs who worship the correct gods are occasionally let into Felmentua, but they are disliked and mistreated the same way as they were before the war, and cannot get any honest jobs but the worst.
